Bergvall is highly rated in the football world

There was plenty of excitement about Bergvall’s arrival at Spurs, with the midfielder widely considered to be one of the best young talents to have emerged out of Swedish football over recent years.

However, with the 18-year-old only having played in the Allsvenskan previously, many would have expected him to have a steep learning curve at Spurs.

That has not been the case, with the midfielder surprising everyone in pre-season with his performances, looking completely at home against top-quality opposition such as Bayern Munich.

Tottenham could still loan Lucas Bergvall

Many Spurs fans might want to see the teenager start against Leicester City in their season opener, but The Mirror have now suggested that Ange Postecoglou has different plans.

It is explained that the Tottenham head coach wants Bergvall to get regular game time under his belt for the upcoming season and is thus ready to send him out on loan.

The report adds that Tyrese Hall is also expected to be loaned out by Spurs while Ashley Phillips, Alfie Devine and Dane Scarlett could also make temporary switches to the EFL once again.

Spurs Web Opinion

Tottenham’s initial plans might have been to loan out Bergvall but I would be extremely surprised if the Lilywhites’ plans have not changed on the back of the newcomer’s showing in pre-season.

At the very least, Ange will want him to remain with the Spurs first-team squad for the first half of the campaign before reassessing the situation in January.
