Report: Malinovskyi remains hopeful of joining Spurs before deadline

According to CalcioMercato, Atalanta midfielder Ruslan Malinovskyi remains hopeful of completing a move to Tottenham before the transfer window slams shut at 11 pm.

Malinovskyi has been heavily linked with a move to Spurs this summer (TuttoMercatoWeb) but the speculation had died down over the past few days.

CalcioMercato now state that the attacking midfielder could still find an exit route from Atalanta before the window closes.

The report explains that despite Marseille’s efforts to sign the 29-year-old over recent weeks, a move to the Ligue 1 club is no longer on the cards for the player.

This is because the distance between the French club and Atalanta in the negotiations for the midfielder proved to be unbridgeable.

The Premier League is said to be Malinovskyi’s most likely destination if he is to leave Bergamo over the coming hours.

Apart from Spurs, Leicester City and Nottingham Forest are also said to have expressed an interest in signing the Ukrainian.

However, CalcioMercato add that the Atalanta star would prefer to join Antonio Conte’s side and hopes that a deal can materialise.

Spurs Web Opinion

One would assume that Paratici will be aware of the fee that Atalanta want for Malinovskyi from his conversations with the Serie A club over recent weeks.

So, if Spurs do decide to reignite their interest, a deal will likely not take too long to be agreed. However, as things stand, it does not seem like the North London club are desperate to bring any more players in.
