Report: Man City and Arsenal could enter race for 18-year-old Spurs target

According to the print edition of Sabah (as relayed by Sport Witness), a whole host of clubs across Europe, including both Arsenal and Manchester City, have started watching rumoured Tottenham target Semih Kilicsoy.

Kilicsoy has been making waves in the Turkish top flight since breaking into Besiktas’ senior side earlier this season, with the centre-forward having found the back of the net nine times in 15 league matches so far this season.

Journalist Ertan Suzgun told Sports Digitale last month that Ange Postecoglou’s men are one of the two leading contenders for the centre-forward’s signature alongside Aston Villa.

Tottenham’s interest in the 18-year-old was subsequently also backed up by Turkiye Gazetesi, who suggested a couple of weeks ago that Besiktas might even demand around €50m (£42.7m) from the North London club for the youngster.

Tottenham have competition for Semih Kilicsoy

Sabah have now suggested that Kiliscoy has emerged on the radar of several top sides in the Premier League and around Europe.

The outlet says that Arsenal, Manchester City, Atletico Madrid, Borussia Dortmund, RB Leipzig, Juventus and Napoli sent scouts to watch the striker in action in Beskitas’ clash against Galatasaray on Sunday.

The publication adds that the Turkish giants are now hoping that there will be a major auction for the teenager next summer so that they can sell the player to their highest bidder.

Spurs Web Opinion

We know that Tottenham are likely to enter the market for a centre-forward in the summer.

The only question is whether Postecoglou would want a younger striker to learn from the likes of Son and Richarlison or if he wants a marquee number nine who would walk into the starting line-up.

If the club decide to go for the former, then Kilicsoy would undoubtedly be quite an attractive option.
