Report: Man City have entered race for striker wanted by Spurs

According to Rai journalist Sara Meini, Manchester City have now entered the race for Tottenham Hotspur target Dusan Vlahovic.

Spurs have been heavily linked with a move for Vlahovic through the summer and the Fiorentina star is thought to be the club’s number one striker target (Alasdair Gold).

Atletico Madrid have also been credited with an interest in the Serbian international, who found the back of the net 21 times in Serie A last campaign.

Meanwhile, Manchester City continue to be linked with a move for Harry Kane, with The Independent reporting today that the Premier League champions are ready to launch a £150m offer for the England captain.

Meini has now taken to social media to reveal that Pep Guardiola’s side are set to challenge Spurs and Atletico for Vlahovic.

The journalist revealed that Fiorentina are still hopeful of renewing the 21-year-old’s contract which has two years left to run.

However, she stated the money that has been put on the plate could be a ‘decisive turning point’ for Viola.

Spurs Web Opinion

Perhaps this is a tactic by City to put pressure on Spurs to lower their demands for Harry Kane. It will certainly be interesting to see how this plays out over the next couple of days. I still expect Kane to be a City player before the end of the month and Spurs to replace the 28-year-old with Vlahovic.
