Report: Man City make contact with Mauricio Pochettino

Manchester City are reported to have asked Mauricio Pochettino to keep them informed of his future plans.

The Express claim that City have made contact with the Argentine as they potentially prepare for life without Pep Guardiola.

The current Premier League champions were on Friday night banned from the Champions League for the next two seasons for ‘serious breaches’ of UEFA’s financial fair play regulations.

City were found to have found themselves on the wrong side of FFP rules between 2012 and 2016 and have been fined £25million.

The Manchester Evening News claimed that the decision could have an impact on Guardiola’s future at the Etihad Stadium.

Pochettino left Tottenham in late November after four and a half years in charge in North London having guided the club to four successive top four finishes along with a first appearance in the Champions League final, which saw them edge past City in the knockout stages.

The report claims that Pochettino would be high up on City’s shopping list if Guardiola departs, but fear their chances of landing him would be hit if they fail to win their appeal against the Champions League ban.
