Report: Man City owners make Harry Kane decision

The Telegraph have claimed that the Manchester City owners have given Pep Guardiola the green light to pursue Harry Kane this summer.

City look like Kane’s most likely destination if the striker does leave Spurs, with swap deals even being mooted as a possibility.

The striker certainly did not hide his desire to link up with Man City star Kevin De Bruyne, naming him as the player he would most like to play alongside.

The big question is whether City would be able to make a big enough offer to persuade Daniel Levy to part ways with Tottenham’s talisman and, if The Telegraph are to be believed, they are certainly going to try.

The report explains that City chairman, Khaldoon Al Mubarak, wants to send a strong message in the summer transfer market by signing a top-quality replacement for Sergio Aguero.

Kane is said to be at the top of Guardiola’s wishlist but the Champions League runners-up are also said to be looking at other options including Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland and Inter Milan’s Romelu Lukaku.

Spurs Web Opinion

The main reason I remain confident that Spurs will hold on to Kane for one more season is because of our managerial pursuit. If Levy wants to bring Conte in, the Spurs chairman will have to promise him the Italian Kane will stay (unless Conte prefers to cash in on the striker and reinvest the money).
