Report: Man City players have not finalised ‘leadership group’ in case Harry Kane signs

The Telegraph have reported that Man City’s players have not yet finalised their ‘leadership group’ within the changing room as they want to wait and see if Harry Kane will sign for the club.

Of course, Kane is currently the vice-captain at Spurs and the captain of England, so he would likely hold some kind of leadership role within the City side if he joined.

However, heading into the new Premier League season, Kane will be facing the Manchester club at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium tomorrow as a Lilywhite player, although it remains to be seen whether he will be in the matchday squad.

When asked whether he expects Kane to remain a Tottenham player past the end of the transfer window this week, Nuno Espirito Santo simply stated the striker is with the squad and is currently one of ‘our players’.

Fabrizio Romano revealed last week that Man City are preparing a new €150m bid for Harry Kane this summer.

Spurs Web Opinion:

This is going to go right down to the wire and even if the transfer doesn’t happen, the rumours will be back for January and the next summer too. It simply will not end until the day Harry Kane leaves. The media will find every possible angle.
