Report: Man City set to play a key role in whether Harry Kane remains at Spurs

Harry Kane could be set to remain a Tottenham Hotspur player next season, according to The Sun.

Sky Sports reported last month that the marksman would be expected to ask to leave the club if they failed to secure Champions League football (Sky Sports).

Tottenham find themselves in seventh place in the Premier League table going into this weekend and are eight points behind fourth-paced Chelsea with just three games remaining.

Jose Mourinho also suffered the embarrassment of seeing his side knocked out of the Europa League at the hands of Dinamo Zagreb which ended their hopes of a route back into European football’s most prestigious club competition.

The report claims that both Barcelona and Real Madrid are not interested in pursuing a move for the 27-year-old while Manchester United unwilling to pay over £90million to bring the England international to Old Trafford.

Kane’s potential departure is said to rest on Manchester City’s activity with Pep Guardiola keen to bring in a new forward with Sergio Aguero departing at the end of the season.

City would need to make an offer of over £150million to look to land Kane with Daniel Levy not keen to sell to a rival Premier League club.

Instead, it is suggested that Guardiola may feel that a double approach for Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland and Aston Villa skipper Jack Grealish may represent better value given their age.
