Report: Man City star is holding up Harry Kane’s boot deal

The Telegraph have revealed that Harry Kane is being forced to wait on a new boot deal with brands prioritising signing Manchester City star Erling Haaland.

Kane has been contracted to Nike in the past, and the report claims that the Tottenham man is likely to renew his current deal with the American sports giant after the World Cup in November.

However, Haaland is now thought to be the subject of a bidding war between the likes of Nike, Adidas, Puma and New Balance, on the back of the stunning start he has made to life at City.

The boot brands are said to be planning their budgets accordingly to try to get the Norwegian on board, which is postulated as one of the reasons why Kane’s renewal is on hold.

The Telegraph state that the 22-year-old’s distinctive style is viewed as a major asset in the industry.

Nike will likely want to renew Kane’s deal as the Tottenham man remains one of the best strikers on the planet. In case, Nike refrain from doing so and spend the bulk of their budget on Haaland, several other brands will be lining up to get the England captain on board.
