Report: Man City suffer potential injury blow ahead of Spurs clash

Football.London report that Manchester City could be without summer signing Nathan Ake for their trip to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on November 21 after the centre-back went off injured in the Netherlands’ international friendly against Spain last night.

The game against City will be a big test of Spurs’ title credentials against a side who are expected to push Liverpool all the way once again.

The game is the start of a nightmare run for Tottenham that will see them take on the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool, Leeds, Leicester and Wolves in the space of a month.

Football.London reveal that Ake was forced off just six minutes into the match on Wednesday but the report does not confirm how serious the defender’s injury is.

It is said that there might be cause for concern for City as the former Bournemouth man had just recently recovered from a groin problem.

Regardless, it still should not hamper Pep Guardiola’s plans too much, with the Spaniard having seemingly settled on Aymeric Laporte and Ruben Dias as his first-choice pairing in central defence.
