Report: Man City willing to part with Grealish to sign rumoured Spurs target

CalcioMercatoWeb.it have revealed that Manchester City are prepared to make a swap offer for rumoured Tottenham target Rafael Leao but the proposal has not convinced the Serie A club.

Leao has arguably been the standout attacker in Italian football over the last 18 months, and even though he was used primarily as an impact substitute for Portugal at the World Cup, the forward still showed his quality, netting twice in Qatar (Transfermarkt).

Over the last several weeks, reports have indicated that Spurs, Manchester City and Chelsea are all eyeing Leao as an option ahead of the January transfer window (CalcioMercato.it) while Barcelona are also said to be admirers of the player (Relevo journalist Toni Juanmarti).

In an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport earlier this month, Leao insisted that he is in no hurry to leave the San Siro and confirmed that he will hold talks with Milan to renew his current deal, which runs out in the summer of 2024.

However, if CMW.it’s latest update is to be believed, the Rossoneri’s attempts to tie down the Portugal international have not progressed and the Serie A club are now considering cashing in on the attacker in January.

The report states that City have informed Stefano Pioli’s men that they are willing to offer Jack Grealish in a direct swap deal for Leao.

However, Milan are ‘not convinced at all’ by this proposal due to Grealish’s £15m per year salary and the fact that the England international is four years older than Leao.

Spurs Web Opinion

Tottenham are certainly not going to break the bank for another attacking player, given the options Conte has at his disposal. If Leao does not sign a new contract at the San Siro, I expect him to end up at Chelsea or Manchester City either in January or next summer.
