Report: Man United and Brighton could spark defender’s Tottenham sale

It has emerged that Manchester United and Brighton have both stepped up their chase of Fenerbahce left-back Ferdi Kadioglu, with the transfer potentially set to fund the Turkish club’s move for Sergio Reguilon.

Man United and Brighton both want Kadioglu

According to Sporx, Kadioglu is now the subject of a bidding war between Manchester United and Brighton, with both clubs alleged to have made an offer for the 24-year-old.

It is explained that the Turkish international is now expected to leave Sukru Saracoglu Stadium, with the Istanbul club ready to sign Reguilon as a replacement.

This is backed up by Fotomac, who say that manager Jose Mourinho has made it clear to the Fenerbahce hierarchy that the Spurs defender is his top target.

Fenerbahce want to sign Reguilon

However, it is explained that it will not be easy for the Yellow Canaries to win the race for the former Real Madrid man.

This is because they will have to contend with competition from their local rivals, Galatasaray, while Sevilla and Barcelona are also said to be keeping an eye on the Spurs defender’s situation.

Reguilon impressed during loan spells with Man United and Brentford last season but does not seem to be in Ange Postecoglou’s plans at Tottenham.

Spurs Web Opinion

While Reguilon’s preference will likely be a return to Spain, I would not put it beyond Jose Mourinho to convince the left-back to join him at Fenerbahce.

Whatever the case, I’m surprised he hasn’t got a decent move yet. He has a lot to offer, as he showed last season at Brentford and Man United.
