Report: Man United are not confident about signing Harry Kane this summer

90 min have revealed that Manchester United are not optimistic about their chances of signing Harry Kane as they know that Daniel Levy is not going to make the negotiations easy.

We covered a report from Football Transfers a couple of days ago which claimed that Man Utd are considering abandoning their pursuit of Harry Kane and turning their attention to Juventus‘ Dusan Vlahovic instead.

It was explained that this is because the Red Devils do not want to pay in excess of €100m (£86.7m) for the Tottenham man and were instead considering offering €70m (£60.7m) for the Serbian.

90 min have now asserted that Kane remains United’s number one centre-forward target ahead of the summer transfer window as the club look to solve their issues in front of goal.

However, it is said that there is ‘not huge confidence’ at Old Trafford that they will be able to secure a deal for the 29-year-old as there is an expectation that Daniel Levy will not make things easy.

The Spurs chairman is expected to demand a minimum of £100m for Kane and while United will explore whether they can pull off the move, they are prepared to turn their attention to other targets should Spurs drag their heels.

This is because Erik Ten Hag wants to secure his targets in time for the club’s pre-season tour to the United States.

Even if Kane decides against signing a new contract and Levy is open to selling the striker, there is no chance that the Spurs chairman will make the negotiations straightforward.

If getting a centre-forward in early is a priority for Ten Hag, it is quite likely that they would look beyond Kane to other targets.
