Report: Man United are now ready to challenge Spurs for centre-back

According to ESPN, Manchester United are now ready to battle the likes of Tottenham Hotspur for Fulham centre-back Tosin Adarabioyo.

Tottenham’s chances of landing Adarabioyo sustained a blow when it was reported by Paul O Keefe earlier this week that the centre-back had turned down Spurs’ proposal.

On Wednesday, Foot Mercato reported that the Lilywhites may find it difficult to land the 26-year-old as they are unable to offer him ‘sporting guarantees’.

The report suggested that Newcastle hold the upper hand over both Spurs and Liverpool after the Fulham star held positive talks with Eddie Howe regarding a switch to St James’ Park.

Man Utd enter the race for Tosin Adarabioyo

ESPN have now claimed that Man Utd have now also joined Tottenham, Newcastle and Chelsea in the race for Adarabioyo.

The report says that the Red Devils are set for an overhaul at centre-back this summer and have identified the Fulham star as a potential target.

It is explained that United’s new technical director Jason Wilcox knows Adarabioyo well from their time together at Manchester City, which potentially gives them an advantage in the race.

Tottenham now appear increasingly likely to miss out on Adarabioyo, who has no shortage of options to choose from. We might see the Lilywhites turn their attention to Bologna’s Riccardo Calafiori and Torino’s Alessandro Buongiorno over the next few weeks.
