Report: Man United clause could prevent Spurs from signing £50m man

Tottenham Hotspur have struggled to maintain any kind of form this season in the Premier League as they currently sit comfortably in the bottom half of the table.

Spurs have won just three games out of 12 so far in the league and have just 14 points to their name. In fact, the Lilywhites are further from the Champions League spots than they are from the relegation zone.

Pochettino desperately needs something to kickstart his season at the helm of the North London club, and perhaps that could come in the form of a new signing.

Over the past week, Spurs have been linked to Memphis Depay, the flying Lyon forward and ex-Manchester United man.

The Mirror claim that Spurs are readying a £50m bid for the goal scorer, but Man United could yet derail any chances of Poch’s side signing him.

It is reported that Man United entered a buy-back clause into the sale of Deapy two years ago, meaning they would have first refusal if Lyon do decide to part ways with him (Mirror).
