According to ESPN, Manchester United are continuing to keep tabs on Tottenham target Ivan Toney, with the Brentford star’s contract situation said to make him a lucrative option for the Red Devils.

Tottenham like the look of Ivan Toney
Over the past few months, a number of outlets have talked up Tottenham’s chances of landing Toney, who has just a year left to run on his contract at the Gtech Community Stadium this summer.
The latest of those came last week from Football Transfers, who claimed that Spurs’ path towards the England international had now been cleared as Man Utd, Arsenal and Chelsea had cooled their interest in the player.
The outlet added that the race for the 27-year-old’s signature looks set to be between Spurs and West Ham, with Ange Postecoglou’s men allegedly readying an offer of around £40m for the striker.

Man United are still in the race for Ivan Toney
However, this claim has now been contradicted by ESPN, who say that Toney is still very much on Man United’s radar.
The report reveals that even when Erik Ten Hag’s future at the club was in doubt, a number nine was identified as a priority this summer irrespective of who was in charge next season.
Following the departure of Anthony Martial, it is alleged that Toney is one player that the Manchester club are particularly keen on this summer.
However, the publication reveals that Thomas Frank’s side are expected to demand more than £50m for their talismanic centre-forward.
Spurs Web Opinion
With Man Utd, Chelsea and Arsenal all in need of a centre-forward, it is very unlikely that Tottenham would have a free run at Toney this summer.
The race for the Brentford star is likely to heat up over the coming weeks and the Bees will hope that a bidding war ensues for the striker’s signature.
His form at the end of last season may have put some suitors off, however, a strong Euro 2024 campaign could soon see his stock rise once again.
