Tottenham Hotspur have been strongly linked with a number of exciting talents this summer, but one who is especially fancied to sign for the North London outfit is Lyon midfielder Tanguy Ndombele.

Sky Sports reported last week that a £65m fee had been agreed between the two clubs for the central midfield powerhouse this transfer window. He would become Tottenham’s record transfer if he is to join this summer.

The Sun even stated that Ndombele had already been given a tour of the Spurs training facilities at Hotspur Way.

However, the Metro now report that Man United still have a chance to hijack the Spurs deal, perhaps as a potential Paul Pogba replacement.

L’Equipe say that personal terms have yet to be finalised between Tottenham and Ndombele himself, leaving the door open for the Red Devils.

The 22-year-old Frenchman impressed last season for Lyon in both the Ligue 1 and the Champions League.

  1. Yes, of course United will step in and nick him.
That’s what the bloated entitled giants all do, isn’t it, when Spurs start
    to prevaricate?
Spurs scout & then earmark a player they want, they court him, they liaise
with the club’s directors over a fee, they agree personal terms and
    even sometimes give a medical.
Meanwhile the vultures of Chelsea, United and other big clubs watch all this
from afar, knowing that Spurs are saving them on scouting, negotiations,
and all other groundwork, and then they pounce! Remember Hazard
and Willian, who were both ‘definitely’ coming to Spurs, before Chelsea dived
in at the last moment? Anyway, as much as I admire Levy’s strong careful
dealings, especially in the light of 90% of the Bale money
going south with awful signings, we have to step things up much quicker
than we do. I really would not be surprised if United charged through
a door that’s been carefully and gingerly prised opened by Tottenham, for
    NDombele.
