Report: Man United could swoop in and steal top Tottenham target

Tottenham Hotspur have been strongly linked with a number of exciting talents this summer, but one who is especially fancied to sign for the North London outfit is Lyon midfielder Tanguy Ndombele.

Sky Sports reported last week that a £65m fee had been agreed between the two clubs for the central midfield powerhouse this transfer window. He would become Tottenham’s record transfer if he is to join this summer.

The Sun even stated that Ndombele had already been given a tour of the Spurs training facilities at Hotspur Way.

However, the Metro now report that Man United still have a chance to hijack the Spurs deal, perhaps as a potential Paul Pogba replacement.

L’Equipe say that personal terms have yet to be finalised between Tottenham and Ndombele himself, leaving the door open for the Red Devils.

The 22-year-old Frenchman impressed last season for Lyon in both the Ligue 1 and the Champions League.
