Report: Man United enter race for forward after Spurs allegedly made offer

According to TuttoJuve, Manchester United have now entered the race to sign Barcelona striker Memphis Depay, who has been linked with a move to Tottenham over recent weeks.

Sport reported earlier this week that Spurs had stepped up their pursuit of the Dutchman, even stating that the North London club had already presented an offer to the player’s representatives.

It was explained that Barcelona were keen to cash in on the 28-year-old as he is not in Xavi Hernandez’s plans for the upcoming season.

El Partidazo de COPE journalist Helena Condis Edo revealed a couple of days ago that the Catalan giants would be willing to sell Depay for €15m (£12.7m) this summer.

If TuttoJuve’s latest update is to be believed, United are now looking to take the Netherlands international back to Old Trafford this summer.

The report asserts that Erik Ten Hag is keen to strengthen this forward line and Depay fits the profile of forward that the Red Devils boss is looking for, given the Barca attacker’s versatility.

I simply do not see why Conte would want Depay after signing Richarlison, given that both players are quite similar positionally. I also do not see the Dutchman being keen on a move to Tottenham as he will not get much game time in north London.
