Report: Man United make request to Tottenham over Christian Eriksen

It has been well over a month since Christian Eriksen revealed his intentions to leave Tottenham Hotspur after their Champions League final defeat to Liverpool (Ekstra Bladet).

The Great Dane claimed that he was looking for a step up and a new challenge for the 2019/20 season after six years in North London.

However, the playmaker did add that he would be open to new contract negotiations with Spurs if no big clubs came in for him this transfer window.

We are now coming towards the end of July and Eriksen is still at Spurs, in fact, he is even part of the club’s pre-season tour squad in Shanghai.

Spurs are set to face Man United in China this week, and it appears that the Red Devils have been in touch with the Lilywhites before the match.

The Mirror claim that Man United have made a request to Spurs to keep them updated on Eriksen’s situation at the club, with the Mail adding that Levy has slapped a £70m price tag on the Danish midfielder.

Could United still be interested in a deal? Or are they merely putting the pieces in place to take Eriksen on a free next summer?
