Report: Man United planning to move for 55-year-old Jose Mourinho target

Manchester United are reportedly looking to sign a new director of football at the club, with Luis Campos the current top choice (Sun).

It is said that Ed Woodward has spent the last year and a half searching for the ideal candidate, and has now settled on Campos.

Woodward apparently believed that signing Campos back during Mourinho’s reign would have given the Special One too much power. The Sun claim that Campos was a Mourinho target.

However, after Campos managed to deliver Mbappe, Fabinho, Bernardo Silva, and Anthony Martial to Monaco, as well as Nicolas Pepe to Lille, he is seen as an attractive prospect for Man United.

It was reported earlier in the season that Campos was keen to link up with Mourinho again and is still in close contact with the Tottenham head coach (Telegraph).

However, Mourinho claimed that it was not up to him if Campos was signed in North London.
