Report: Man United want Kane to go public with his desire to leave Spurs

According to a report by The Athletic, Manchester United want Harry Kane to make his desire to swap Tottenham for Old Trafford clear before they start negotiating.

There has been a lot of speculation surrounding Kane’s future over the last few weeks and Manchester United are one of the clubs said to be keen on the England captain’s services (Express).

The Athletic reveal that while the 26-year-old has been a long-term target for United, the club’s hierarchy are reluctant to enter into negotiations with Daniel Levy.

They claim that the Red Devils recently fielded an enquiry about their possible interest in Kane should he come on the market, which convinced them that he could be available in the summer.

Ed Woodward is said to have a good relationship with the Spurs chairman but it is suggested that he won’t enter into negotiations for the prolific striker if he doesn’t make his desire to join Manchester United public.

The report suggests that a transfer away from Spurs is unlikely for Kane this summer with few clubs likely to e willing to meet Levy asking price, particularly due to the impending financial crisis as a result of the coronavirus outbreak.

Kane still has four more years left to run on his contract and so there is no reason for fans to panic that he might leave us this summer. He is not the type of player who is likely to push for a move away. However, if we don’t show any signs of improvement next season, perhaps he will start to wonder if he has to move to win silverware.
