Tottenham Hotspur are considering making a move for Diogo Dalot after Manchester United opened the door for the defender to leave Old Trafford this summer, according to a report in the Sun.
The Sun now claims that the Lilywhites could turn their attention to Dalot as Jose Mourinho is known to be a ‘huge fan’ of the full-back.
Dalot arrived at United from Porto in the summer of 2018 when Mourinho was still at the helm. The Portuguese defender has also impressed in the few appearances he has made since arriving in the Premier League.
However, his opportunities have been limited since Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s arrival from Crystal Palace, while the 21-year-old has also been plagued with injuries.
The report asserts that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is open to parting ways with Dalot in order to raise transfer funds and it is suggested that the defender could be available for a fee of around £30 to £35 million this summer.
Spurs Web Opinion
I believe Dalot could be an excellent addition if he does become available. The defender has been a little unlucky since he arrived at Manchester United but he has shown his excellent physical and technical attributes every time he has featured. The only advantage with going for Aarons over Dalot is that the Norwich star will be considered homegrown. Otherwise, both players have very similar skill sets and profiles.
