Report: Man Utd add Spurs linked midfielder to wishlist ahead of summer

According to ESPN, Manchester United could make a move for RB Leipzig midfielder Christopher Nkunku, who was previously reported to be on Tottenham’s radar.

Nkunku has progressed steadily since joining Leipzig from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2019 and the attacking midfielder has exploded this campaign, taking both the Bundesliga and the Champions League by storm.

The 24-year-old has scored 19 times and assisted 13 times in all competitions for Domenico Tedesco’s side, with seven of those goals coming in the group stages of the Champions League (Transfermarkt).

Foot Mercato reported ahead of last summer’s transfer window that Nkunku was of interest to Spurs, as well as their North London rivals Arsenal.

According to ESPN’s latest update, Man Utd have now added the former France Under-21 international to their wishlist after a request from the club’s interim manager Ralf Rangnick.

The report claims that the Red Devils are eyeing the Leipzig star as a potential replacement for Paul Pogba, who is expected to leave Old Trafford when his contract expires at the end of the season.

Spurs Web Opinion

Given that Lo Celso and Ndombele do not seem to be in Conte’s plans, Spurs are likely to be in the market for a number eight in the summer. We can certainly do a lot worse than Nkuku as the Frenchman’s attacking versatility will make him an excellent fit for Conte’s system.
