Report: Man Utd and Chelsea have ‘knocked on the door’ for Spurs-linked star

Gazzetta Dello Sport have now revealed that Manchester United and Chelsea have entered the race to sign Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana, who is rumoured to be on Tottenham’s radar.

It has been well documented over recent months that Spurs are on the lookout for Hugo Lloris’ long-term successor, with 90 min reporting last month that Onana is one of the names on the North London club’s wishlist.

The report added that Inter need to raise funds through player sales to balance their books in the summer, and had notified English clubs about the availability of their number one.

However, Gazzetta have now revealed that it is two of Tottenham’s Premier League rivals, Man United and Chelsea, who have made the first move for the Cameroonian, having knocked on the Nerazzurri’s door about the goalkeeper.

The report alleges that Onana is not desperate to leave the San Siro in the summer and it could take a ‘mind-boggling offer’ to prise him away from the Serie A giants.

However, Inter are said to be preparing for the possibility of losing the 26-year-old, with Simone Inzaghi’s men thought to have identified Empoli’s Guglielmo Vicario as a potential replacement.

Spurs Web Opinion

I believe that the speculation linking Onana with a move to Spurs has arisen from the fact that Inter are looking for buyers for the goalkeeper rather than the 26-year-old being one of the top names on Paratici’s radar.

I suspect Tottenham will look within the Premier League for Lloris’ replacement, with David Raya being the obvious candidate, now that Jordan Pickford has signed a new deal at Everton.
