Report: Man Utd and Chelsea want to sign Spurs midfielder

Tottenham’s Danish maestro Christian Eriksen has been unable to agree on a contract extension with Spurs to date.

The 26-year-old’s current contract with Spurs which sees the midfielder earning around £75,000-a-week will run out at the end of next season.

Due to Spurs’ failure to get the playmaker to agree to an extension, it is rumoured that the likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona are interested in acquiring his services.

Eriksen himself came out a few weeks ago to dismiss the rumours linking him with a move away and to confirm that he is still in negotiations with the club over a new deal.

According to the Express, now Chelsea and Manchester United have also entered the race for Eriksen. The report states that Real Madrid have turned their attention elsewhere after they found Eriksen’s asking price to be too pricey.

The report also states that Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain are also keen on signing the former Ajax man.

While a move to Real or Barca might prove too tempting for Eriksen to turn down, it certainly seems unlikely that Daniel Levy would sell him to another English club.
