Report: Man Utd and West Ham could challenge Spurs for £40m-rated midfielder

TEAMtalk have claimed that Tottenham Hotspur may have to see off competition from Manchester United and West Ham United to land Conor Gallagher in January.

It emerged a earlier this month that some of the higher-ups at Chelsea feel that January would be the right time to cash in on Gallagher with the Stamford Bridge outfit planning on using the funds from his sale to sign a striker (Daily Mail).

Unsurprisingly, it emerged soon after that Spurs had been altered by the development and were ready to pounce for the 23-year-old if he was put up for sale (talkSPORT).

Spurs could face competition for Conor Gallagher

TEAMtalk have now claimed that an offer of around £40m would be enough to take Gallagher away from Stamford Bridge in next month’s transfer window.

Ange Postecoglou is said to be a big fan of the England international, with the Australian believing that the player would fit perfectly into his system.

However, the outlet reveals that Spurs could face competition from West Ham, who may also reignite their interest in Gallagher after failing to sign him last summer, while Manchester United are also keeping an eye on developments and could decide to enter the race for the Blues captain.

Spurs Web Opinion

I think Postecoglou would be able to convince Gallagher that he would fit in better at Tottenham than he would in either David Moyes’ or Erik Ten Hag’s system.

The 23-year-old would also be aware that the Australian really values him, with Spurs having made a serious effort to sign him last summer as well.
