Report: Man Utd believe Spurs target is open to Old Trafford switch instead

GiveMeSport report that Manchester United believe Tottenham target David Raya would be open to a switch to Old Trafford this summer.

Among the various names that have been mooted as Hugo Lloris’ potential successor at Spurs, Raya’s has appeared the most often over the last few weeks, particularly after Jordan Pickford extended his contract at Everton.

Football Insider reported just a few days ago that the Lilywhites have identified the Brentford number one as a top target for the summer.

The publication added that the Bees will accept a fee of around £30m for the Spaniard in the summer since he is about to enter the final year of his deal and has already turned down multiple contract offers from Thomas Frank’s side.

GiveMeSport have now revealed that Man Utd also have their eye on Raya, with Erik Ten Hag keen on strengthening in goal.

The report adds that there is even a feeling at United that the 27-year-old shot-stopper would be open to competing with David De Gea over the short term, with a view to taking over as the undisputed number one in the future.

Raya will likely demand assurances of being the number one no matter which club he joins.

If Man Utd offer him such an assurance, his preference might be to move to Old Trafford ahead of the likes of Spurs or Chelsea.

I have no doubt that the Spaniard would be Tottenham’s top goalkeeping target this summer.
