Report: Man Utd considering selling Spurs-linked man for £15m in January

The Sun have claimed that Manchester United are considering selling rumoured Tottenham target Jesse Lingard in January if he does not sign a new deal.

Lingard enjoyed an impressive second-half of last season on loan at West Ham, with his performances helping the Hammers to a sixth-place finish.

It was reported during the summer transfer window that Spurs could try and snap up the 28-year-old, with Football Insider claiming the North Londoners were competing with West Ham for the midfielder’s signature.

However, Lingard ended up staying at Old Trafford and he has once again struggled to force himself into Ole Gunnar Solksjaer’s starting eleven.

The Sun now reveal that United have been in talks with the England international over a new deal, with the Red Devils willing to offer him terms of around £135,000-a-week.

While Lingard is thought to be open to staying at his boyhood club, it is explained that he wants assurances over regular first-team football.

With the midfielder’s contract running out at the end of the season, it is thus asserted that United could sell him for £15m when the transfer window reopens in January.

Lingard would most certainly be an upgrade over Dele Alli but I am not sure a number ten will be top of Fabio Partici’s list of priorities in January, with Ndombele and Lo Celso also vying for that position.
