According to various reports, Chalobah is one of several players that Chelsea are expected to cash in on as soon as the transfer market opens in June, with the Blues needing to raise funds to ensure they do not fall foul of PSR (The Times).

Over the last couple of weeks, a number of outlets have reported that Tottenham are expected to push ahead with a move for the 24-year-old as Ange Postecoglou seeks to bolster his options at the back (The Telegraph).

Man United could enter the race for Chalobah

The Standard have now claimed that Spurs could have some competition to contend with from Man Utd, who are also tracking Chalobah ahead of the summer transfer window.

The report states that Chelsea are now prepared to listen to offers for their academy graduate, who is thought to be valued by the West London club at £25m.

However, the publication adds that while the Red Devils have a ‘strong interest’ in Chalobah, they might not be willing to meet the asking price and that they are first prioritising player sales before moving for their top transfer targets.

Tottenham would offer Chalobah a chance to remain in London and the North London side are a more stable option than Man Utd, particularly given the lack of clarity on who is going to be in charge at Old Trafford next season.

However, should Mauricio Pochettino get the United job, then that might give the Manchester club an advantage in the race for the Chelsea defender.
