Report: Man Utd line up £70m bid for former Spurs transfer target

According to reports, Tottenham came close to signing Jadon Sancho last summer but Man City pulled the plug on the deal as they didn’t want to sell him to an English club (Standard).

The 18-year-old completed a move to Borussia Dortmund in the summer and has gone from strength to strength this season, becoming an important part of the BVB side and even earning a place in the England senior squad.

Sancho’s first-half performance was the lone shining light in what was a disastrous result for Dortmund against Tottenham on Wednesday night as the teenager’s pace and trickery troubled Spurs’ otherwise solid defence.

According to a report in The Sun, Manchester United are now lining up a sensational £70 million bid in an effort to get Sancho back to England. This might prove a controversial move as Sancho spent over two years at Man City’s academy.

Although Pochettino is said to be a major fan of Sancho, given the price being branded about for him, Spurs are now unlikely to compete for his signing.
