Report: Man Utd ‘make approach’ for striker linked with Spurs

Manchester United have reportedly made contact with AC Milan over the possibility of signing striker Krzysztof Piatek, who has also been linked with a move to Spurs.

Contrasting reports have emerged regarding Tottenham’s pursuit of Piatek with some reports claiming that a deal between Milan and Spurs had been agreed (The Sun) while others reported that it was unlikely (Sky Sports Germany).

The 24-year-old who has scored four goals in eighteen Serie A appearances this season (Transfermarkt) has fallen down the pecking order since the arrival of Zlatan Ibrahimovic at the San Siro.

The Athletic report that Manchester United had already enquired about the possibility of signing the striker on loan with The Mirror suggesting that Marcus Rashford’s back injury could force the club to move ahead with the deal.

Milan are said to be holding out for a deal which would see Piatek leave on a permanent basis and are asking for a fee in the region of €35million (£29.7m).

Spurs have been left short of options for a target man after Harry Kane suffered a hamstring tear on New Year’s Day and is not expected to return to training until April.

Spurs Web Opinion

This rumours linking us with a move for Piatek have died down noticeably over the past week or so which suggests that a move is probably unlikely as things stand. While I like the look of Piatek, I would prefer the club to sign Willian Jose over the AC Milan striker as I feel the former would be a better fit for us.
