Report: Man Utd trio plan to convince Kane to make Old Trafford move

The Sun have reported that Manchester United’s England trio of Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw and Marcus Rashfrod will try to convince Harry Kane to move to Old Trafford this summer.

Kane has admitted that he will hold talks with Daniel Levy about his future but it is Manchester City who are reported to be the front-runners for the striker’s signature.

The 27-year-old has hinted that he could be open to a move to the Etihad by admitting his desire to play alongside Kevin De Bruyne.

Sources also indicate that the Tottenham star asked the likes of Kyle Walker and John Stones about life in Manchester at the England camp back in March, leaving the City stars convinced of the England captain’s desire to move to the Etihad.

However, United have also been backed to make a potential move for Spurs’ talisman, with rumours suggesting that the club’s decision to hand Edinson Cavani a new deal is not likely to stop them from pursuing a number 9 this summer.

The Sun now claim that Maguire, Rashford and Shaw are keen to see Kane arrive at United and will ‘work’ on the Spurs star during the summer.

The report quotes a source who is allegedly close to the United stars as saying: “All the players have been discussing Harry leaving Spurs.

“The English players plan to work on him when they meet up. They know how good he is and though he would present competition to someone like Marcus, they are excited at the thought of playing with him.

“Edinson has not been shy in telling everyone how highly he rates him. His English isn’t great – but he can get his message across.

“Harry is a similar kind of player, so all the players think he would fit well into their system as they like to play on the counter-attack as Spurs do.”
