Report: Manager ‘has been contacted’ by Spurs in case they need Poch replacement

If you describe Pochettino’s five-year career at Tottenham as a series of ups and downs, then the club are certainly at one of their lowest points right now.

Spurs have picked up just three wins from their first eleven games this campaign, in a season in which many thought they would take big steps forward.

This came after Tottenham reached the Champions League Final in June, before breaking their transfer record and signing four new players in the summer.

However, fast forward to mid-October and the situation in North London looks bleak, with Spurs down in ninth in the Premier League with just three wins from eight.

Spurs are also joint bottom of their Champions League group after an away draw to Olympiacos and 7-2 home embarrassment at the hands of Bayern Munich.

Soccer Link in France have now reported that Jose Mourinho has been contacted by Tottenham in case the club has to appoint a Pochettino replacement in the near future.

However, the report does not suggest that Pochettino will quit or be sacked, merely implying that Spurs are taking precautions.

Spurs Web Opinion:

I do not think that Pochettino will quit Spurs, nor do I think that Levy would be so stupid as to sack him. However, even if one of the two did happen, I just don’t see Mourinho as a good fit for Tottenham and Daniel Levy.
