Report: Manager has specifically asked his board to try and sign Spurs player

The Athletic have reported that sources indicate Carlo Ancelotti has specifically asked the Real Madrid hierarchy to sign Tottenham’s Harry Kane this summer.

Sources ‘familiar with what was discussed’ between the Real Madrid manager and board allegedly told The Athletic that Ancelotti wants Harry Kane at the club, although the difficulties of making such a deal happen were pointed out to the Italian.

This all comes as the Harry Kane rumour mill has well and truly started churning once more ahead of a long summer transfer window.

The Spurs striker is entering the final year of his contract, and the most prevalent rumours are that Manchester United want to sign the England captain as Erik Ten Hag’s number-one target (Daily Star).

However, 90 Min reported recently that many top clubs around Europe expect Kane to stay in North London for at least one more season.

Real Madrid have been among those linked with a possible move for Tottenham’s star man, with Ancelotti thought to have him at the top of his list (AS).

Spurs Web Opinion:

I could probably list 1000 clubs who would want to sign Harry Kane if given the chance. Unfortunately, no matter his critics, Daniel Levy is very proficient at keeping big-name players at Tottenham these days. I expect Kane to either sign a new deal or leave on a free.
