Report: Manager is ‘one step away’ from taking over at Spurs

Il Messaggero have reported that Erik ten Hag is just one step away from taking over at Tottenham Hotspur this summer.

The Tottenham head coach position has been vacant ever since Daniel Levy and co parted ways with Jose Mourinho back in April, with Ryan Mason steering the ship until the end of the season.

Fabrizio Romano reported earlier this summer that Tottenham had held a meeting with the Ajax boss, but revealed that this meeting did not go too well.

As such, he claimed that Ajax extended their manager’s contract and Spurs decided to move on and look elsewhere for their next head coach.

Despite this, Alasdair Gold reported this week that Tottenham may move back to square one and draft a new list of potential managers with Fabio Paratici joining imminently as the new Sporting Director.

Fabrizio Romano also revealed in a recent interview that Erik ten Hag was no longer a candidate for the Spurs job.
