Report: Manager linked with Spurs has ‘intermediary friend’ talking with London club

Reports in the Italian press have claimed that rumoured Tottenham managerial target, Simone Inzaghi, is in talks with a London club about his future.

Inzaghi has done a commendable job since taking over at Lazio in 2016 but the club fell short of Champions League qualification this season.

The 45-year-old’s current deal runs out in the summer and sources from Italy have claimed that Tottenham are eyeing him as a potential replacement to Jose Mourinho.

Although Inzaghi has been linked with the vacant North London hot seat, the likes of Alasdair Gold have claimed that the Italian is not one of the options on Tottenham’s radar.

However, the Italian press have now hinted that the Lazio boss is in talks with a London club amidst the uncertainty surrounding his future at Lazio.

Corriere della Sera report (as translated by Sport Witness) that ‘an intermediary friend of Simone is working on the operation, but his priority continues to be Lazio’.

They also add that ‘unless an unmissable offer arrive from London and the surrounding area, the manager intends to stay in Rome’.

Spurs Web Opinion:

With Crystal Palace being the only other Premier League club from London who are currently on the lookout for a new manager, is appears quite likely that the report is referencing Tottenham.
