Report: Manager ‘pushing hard’ for Spurs job also being eyed by Real Madrid

ESPN have claimed that rumoured Tottenham target Roberto Martinez is also on Real Madrid’s radar, with Zinedine Zidane’s future at the club looking uncertain.

Martinez is one of several managers who has been linked with the vacant Tottenham hot seat over the past few weeks.

Football.London’s Alasdair Gold even named the Spaniard among the shortlist of candidates that the North London club have settled on.

Football Insider revealed last week that the former Everton boss is pushing hard for the Tottenham job and that his enthusiasm has impressed the North London club’s hierarchy.

However, if ESPN are to be believed, the Lilywhites might face competition from Los Blancos for the Belgium boss.

It is explained that while Madrid hope that Zidane will stay on at the club next season, they are preparing for the Frenchman to quit at the end of the campaign.

Former Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri (who has also been linked with the Spurs job) and club legend Raul are installed as the leading contenders to replace Zidane but Martinez is also said to be on the La Liga giants’ shortlist.
