Report: Manager rejects new contract offer from club amid Tottenham links

Sky Germany have revealed that Tottenham’s rumoured managerial target, Oliver Glasner, has turned down a new contract offer from Eintracht Frankfurt.

Multiple outlets have reported over the last couple of weeks that Glasner is one of the names on Fabio Paratici’s wishlist to take over from Antonio Conte at Spurs (The Athletic).

Fabrizio Romano revealed on his YouTube channel on Tuesday that the Austrian is not necessarily Tottenham’s top target as the North London club are assessing several coaches for the potential vacancy.

He also explained that while Glasner will not leave Frankfurt until the end of the season, he is expected to assess the offers that come his way in the summer.

Sky Germany have now claimed that the former Wolfsburg boss, whose current deal at Deutsche Bank Park runs until 2024, has rejected a new deal offered to him by Eintracht.

The report adds that Glasner wants to take his time to decide on his future and is in no rush to commit himself to the Bundesliga club.

However, it is alleged that the Frankfurt hierarchy do not want to risk losing the 48-year-old for free and he would thus have to sign a two-year contract extension to continue at the club beyond the summer.

I would be surprised if Glasner is anywhere near the top of Tottenham’s wishlist to replace Conte.

While the North London club might speak to the Austrian, I suspect they would want a coach who has a proven track record in the Premier League.
