Report: Manager who ‘impressed’ Daniel Levy lands new job

Gennaro Gattuso, who has been linked with the Tottenham job in recent days, has since been confirmed as the new Fiorentina boss.

There appears to be no clear favourite for the Tottenham job as things stand, with Alasdair Gold suggesting on Tuesday (on his YouTube channel) that there is a possibility of the club pulling off a surprise by appointing someone whose name has not been mentioned by the press.

Rai Sport journalist, Ciro Venerato, said on Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli (via CalcioNapoli24) a few days ago that Gattuso is one of the candidates on Spurs’ radar.

The journalist explained that Daniel Levy had been impressed by Gattuso’s ideas and Napoli’s style of play after watching the side closely on a few occasions.

The 43-year-old’s side fell just short of Champions League qualification after being held to a draw at home by Verona in their final game of the season.

That meant that Gattuso was relieved of his duties as Napoli boss but the former Italian international did not remain without work for too long, having now been confirmed as the new Fiorentina manager.
