Report: Manager’s camp reach out to Spurs for talks over head coach position

After withdrawing from the race to become the next Chelsea manager, Julian Nagelsmann is thought to be keen to speak to Tottenham Hotspur about the vacant managerial role at the club.

Tottenham are looking for a new permanent manager after parting ways with Antonio Conte last month. His former assistant Cristian Stellini is currently in charge until the end of the season.

However, after the 6-1 defeat at Newcastle yesterday, Stellini is thought to be under immense pressure and there are reports Ryan Mason may replace him as interim manager (Evening Standard).

Longer term, Spurs are looking at a number of options when it comes to their next manager. Luis Enrique is believed to have held talks over the role (90Min), while the same publication claimed the North London club are also interested in Feyenoord boss Arne Slot.

Former Manchester City captain and current Burnley boss Vincent Kompany is also thought to be high up on the list of candidates for Daniel Levy and the Spurs board (Daily Star).

Meanwhile, former Bayern Munich manager Julian Nagelsmann has consistently been linked with the Spurs job, and after pulling out of the running to take over at Chelsea, Sport Bild claimed the 35-year-old was keen to focus on securing the role at Tottenham.

Now, the latest report from 90Min suggests Nagelsmann is ready and waiting to discuss the vacant manager role at Tottenham Hotspur and wants to re-open negotiations.

It is thought Nagelsmann’s people have reached out to Spurs as he is “keen to know the club’s future plans.”

Tottenham are believed to be “receptive to Nagelsmann’s interest,” but are “considering all their options” as Levy attempts to ensure he and the club “get the next appointment right.”

If Nagelsmann wants to take over at Spurs, then we should snap him up immediately.

Let him have these final six league games to get to know the squad and decide who he needs, then give him the full off-season to rebuild rather than eating into that time messing about with negotiations during the summer.
