Report: Manchester United prepared to sell Jose Mourinho favourite

Portuguese publication O Jogo has claimed that Manchester United are ready to sell rumoured Tottenham Hotspur target Diogo Dalot this summer.

Mourinho was the man who brought the right-back to Old Trafford from Porto in a £19 million deal during the summer of 2018.

However, Dalot has struggled to make the expected impact at United and has seen his game time being considerably limited by the arrival of Aaron Wan-Bissaka last summer.

The Sun claimed back in April that Mourinho was keen to bring the Portuguese Under-21 international to Spurs.

A new right-back is said to be one of the Spurs boss’ priorities this summer, with reports indicating that he has lost faith in Serge Aurier (Daily Mail).

O Jogo claim that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is ready to sanction the sale of a number of United’s fringe players including Dalot as he looks to rebuild the squad.

While the report does not credit Tottenham with interest in the 22-year-old, Paris Saint-Germain and Everton are both said to be keen on the defender’s signature.

Spurs Web Opinion

Things have not worked out for Dalot at Man Utd but he certainly has the potential to develop into a top right-back in the coming years. I would not be surprised if we were interested in him given our need for reinforcements in the position and the fact that Jose knows Dalot very well. However, based on recent reports, it does not appear as if the 22-year-old is near the top of our wishlist.
