Report: Manchester Utd in ‘advanced talks’ to sign Spurs star

As we approach the final day-and-a-half transfer window, Premier League clubs seem to be frantically trying to get their business done.

According to a report in AS, Tottenham Hotspur are keen to cash in on Christian Eriksen this summer as they do not want to run the risk of losing him for free next summer.

The report claims that Tottenham are willing to sell Eriksen for a cut-price fee of £55m in before the window closes.

It is suggested that Manchester United are in advanced talks with the Danish international and his representatives. The 27-year-old is said to be seriously considering the proposal from the Red Devils.

If Eriksen does agree on a move to Old Trafford, it is claimed that United will then make an offer to Spurs and the deal will move quickly. It is also suggested that Man Utd will let Paul Pogba leave after securing Eriksen’s services.

Spurs Web Opinion

While selling Christian Eriksen to a rival is certainly not ideal, the club needs to get rid of him this summer given his contract situation. We believe that the club should sell the 27-year-old if he isn’t fully committed to Spurs and quickly wrap up the deal for Giovani Lo Celso or Bruno Fernandes.
