Report: ‘Many teams’ are circling around Tottenham player this summer

Reports in Spain are now claiming that several La Liga sides are now plotting moves for Tottenham midfielder Giovani Lo Celso this summer.

Last week, Football Insider revealed that Spurs are set to hold surprise contract talks with Lo Celso over the coming weeks.

The report said that even though the Argentine has not had many minutes off late, Ange Postecoglou sees him as a valuable member of the squad, with the Lilywhites thus set to offer the player a contract extension.

Move to Spain on the cards for Giovani Lo Celso

However, Spanish outlets are now backing Lo Celso’s five-year spell at Tottenham to come to an end this summer, with Estadio Deportivo stating that he is ‘not satisfied’ with his current role at N17.

The report says that the midfielder has already ‘decided to change’ clubs in the summer and that ‘many teams’ from La Liga are working to find out about his situation, including his former club Real Betis.

The publication says that Lo Celso still remains in touch with members of the Betis hierarchy and would be in favour of a return to the club.

Meanwhile, Sport have also backed the 28-year-old to leave Spurs this summer and they say that Barcelona have been attentive to the player’s situation over recent months.

There is no doubt that plenty of Spanish clubs would be keen on Lo Celso, given the success that he has had in La Liga. If the midfielder makes it clear that he wants to leave, Tottenham would be hoping to get a bidding war going for the player and make around £20m from his sale.
