Report: Mauricio Pochettino tells PSG he wants to quit; Spurs face competition

Mauricio Pochettino has told Paris Saint-Germain that he wants to leave the club with both Tottenham Hotspur and Real Madrid interested in appointing him as their new head coach, according to Goal.

The Argentine is said to be fully aware that he is Real’s number one candidate to replace Zinedine Zidane, who announced earlier this week that he was departing the Santiago Bernabeu for a second time (BBC).

The Spanish giants have also held discussions with Antonio Conte, who left Inter Milan a few days ago and have also shortlisted club legend Raul as further option.

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is ready to give the 49-year-old full decision-making powers along with the stability of a long-term contract in order to lure him back to London, where his wife and son, Maurizio still live.

The Sun claimed yesterday that Tottenham wish to begin formal talks with PSG over an agreement to free Pochettino from his contract ahead of a remarkable return.
