Report: Messi approves Barca signing of Tottenham striker

Tottenham Hotspur will likely have to fend off some big money bids from European heavyweights sooner or later.

The likes of Christian Eriksen, Harry Kane, and Dele Alli are sure to fetch a pretty staggering price in the transfer market, and it’s only a matter of time before someone places a bid.

However, reports this week suggest that Spanish giants Barcelona are not after any of these big names, but a rarely used substitute (Mundo Deportivo).

Fernando Llorente has never played a full 90 minutes for Spurs in the Premier League, but is apparently a target for the La Liga leaders.

The former World Cup winner also reportedly has Messi’s seal of approval, after Llorente visited the Barca dressing room after a Champions League tie to greet some old friends (Express).

Barca are currently looking for a back up to Luis Suarez after selling Munir El Haddadi to Sevilla.

However, Llorente is currently the only available striker at Spurs, so Barca may have to wait for their man.
