Report: Midfielder allegedly wanted by Spurs’ Paratici set for January exit

CalcioMercato have revealed that Juventus could use rumoured Tottenham target, Weston McKennie, as a makeweight in a deal for Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.

McKennie was linked with a move to Tottenham over the summer, with sources alleging that Fabio Paratici was keen on bringing the midfielder to North London.

The Spurs managing director allegedly even offered Tanguy Ndombele to Juventus in a potential swap deal for the USA international but the 23-year-old ended up staying put in Turin while the Frenchman remained at Tottenham.

The Lilywhites have been backed to reignite their interest in the Juve star when the transfer window reopens in January.

Tottenham’s London rivals, Arsenal and West Ham have also been credited with an interest in the former Schalke man.

However, if CalcioMercato’s latest update is to be believed, McKennie could be heading to Lazio when the transfer window reopens in January.

This is because Juve are thought to be working on a deal for Milinkovic-Savic with the inclusion of makeweights.

The report adds that McKennie is ‘at the top of the list’ of players that Massimiliano Allegri’s side want to include in the deal.

Spurs Web Opinion

This is not necessarily bad news for Tottenham as it shows that Juve are willing to cash in on McKennie. It will be interesting to see if Paratici makes another attempt to snap up the Juventus man in January, particularly if Ndombele establishes himself as a key part of Nuno’s starting eleven over the next few months.
