Report: Midfielder keen on Spurs switch admits his form has not been good enough

Rumoured Tottenham target Ryan Fraser, who will be out of contract at Bournemouth in the summer has admitted that his form in the first half of the season was not good enough.

The winger had an impressive 2018/19 campaign when he registered seven goals and 14 assists in the top flight (transfermarkt).

While he has failed to hit the same heights this season, that has not stopped clubs from apparently showing interest with Tottenham, Arsenal and Everton are all reportedly keen on securing his signature on a free transfer (90min).

Tottenham have been installed as the favourites to land the 26-year-old when his deal with the Cherries expires (Mirror).

However, Jose Mourinho reportedly has his doubts over whether the Scotland international is good enough to challenge for a place in North London (Express).

Fraser has claimed that he got back to his best for Eddie Howe’s side just before the suspension of the Premier League, despite making a poor start to the season.

The Mirror have claimed that Fraser has already set his sights on a move to Tottenham where he believes it will represent a step up in his career.

He told talkSPORT (20 May, 12.30pm): “I think even when I’m playing at my best there is always going to be striving to be better. My first half of the season wasn’t good enough and there’s a lot of reasons why.

“But the last month and a half I’m back to where I want to be and I’m creating a lot more. I just feel a lot better within myself and my head’s probably in the right place now.”

Fraser was heavily linked with a move away from Bournemouth last summer and it is clear that not getting the big move he wanted, severely affected his form at the start of this campaign. I believe he would be a solid squad option for his if we manage to land him.
