Report: Midfielder linked to Spurs in January now backed to leave club in the summer

Inter Milan midfielder, Matias Vecino, who is said to be attracting interest from Tottenham, could be on his way out of the San Siro in the summer, according to the latest reports coming out of Italy.

Vecino was linked with a move away from Inter during the January transfer window after falling out of favour with Antonio Conte, with Spurs said to be one of the clubs considering him as an option (Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla).

Tuttosport (via Sport Witness) now claim that the 28-year-old is unlikely to stay beyond the end of the season and is keen to move onto a new challenge.

It is also suggested that the midfielder is wanted by several European clubs and that the Italian giants are hoping to cash-in on him and reinvest the money into their squad.

Spurs Web Opinion

We are fairly well-stocked for central midfielders particularly with Moussa Sissoko’s return from injury. I do expect the club to be in the market for a defensive midfielder in the summer but Vecino is not a player that specialises in that role. So, I cannot see why he would appeal to us.
