The summer transfer window is set to come to a conclusion for English clubs when it slams shut until the winter at 5pm on Thursday.
Tottenham Hotspur are still being tipped to conduct business ahead of the deadline with a number of names linked with a potential move to North London.
Fulham’s Ryan Sessegnon along with Real Betis’ Giovani Lo Celso and Sporting Lison’s Bruno Fernandes are dominating the Spurs transfer headlines (Evening Standard).
There is also uncertainty surrounding the future of Christian Eriksen, with the Dane now within the last twelve months of his contract.
One player who has been linked as a potential replacement for Eriksen is Ajax’s Donny van de Beek (talkSPORT).
The playmaker however looks to be potentially on his way to Real Madrid after admitting to the Dutch media that he is flattered to be linked with a move to the Spanish giants and appeared to confirm their interest.
He told Fox Sports: “Of course I hear stuff like that from time to time and it’s always good to hear about it.
“But the situation is still the same, even though the media keep creating new stories.
“Of course there is interest, but people tend to rush to conclusions about that.”
The 22-year-old appeared to be unfazed when it was suggested he could be Madrid’s second choice option behind Paul Pogba.
He added: “I haven’t heard it being talked about like that, but it could be true. There’s more to it than what’s in the newspapers, but you don’t have to believe everything that is written.
“There’s always a lot of nonsense. I don’t have to tell you what is and isn’t true, but again, I’m focusing on Saturday [Ajax’s Eredivisie opening fixture vs Vitesse] and the rest is up to you guys.”
