Report: Midfielder linked with Spurs and Arsenal set to sign new Serie A contract

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, reported Tottenham target Ismael Bennacer is all set to sign a new contract with AC Milan.

Bennacer has come on leaps and bounds since his move to Milan in 2019 but the Algerian has particularly taken his game to new heights over the last 18 months, with his performances in the middle of the park being key to the Rossoneri’s title triumph last season.

CMW.it were the first to report on Tottenham’s interest in the midfielder, with the report stating last month that both Fabio Paratici and Antonio Conte were admirers of the 25-year-old.

The publication added that it would take an offer of around €40m (£34.9m) to get Milan to the negotiating table for Bennacer and that Spurs could be prepared to make such an offer.

The same publication then revealed on Monday that the defensive midfielder was also on the radars of Tottenham’s London rivals, Arsenal and Chelsea.

However, if Gazzetta’s latest report is to be believed, all three clubs will now have to look elsewhere to bolster their midfield as Bennacer is set to commit his future to Milan.

The report states that the Algerian international is now on the brink of putting pen to paper on a new deal with Stefano Pioli’s men.

Spurs Web Opinion

Bennacer is hugely underrated and I would have loved for Spurs to sign him as I feel he would have been a perfect fit for Conte’s system. However, it was always going to be a longshot given how important the 25-year-old is to Milan and the amount of competition we were going to face for his signature if he became available.
